Senior Java Developer

OVERVIEW

The Senior Java Developer will be focused on designing, implementing, and supporting Forum Analytics software technologies.

As a Senior Developer in a nimble organization, you’ll be called on to do everything from technical leadership and product planning to plenty of hands-on implementation and programming. You’ll need to be able to pick up new languages easily and evaluate new products quickly. This is a position for someone who wants to get involved with every piece of technology necessary to run our business. You will have the opportunity to work with an elite team of programmers led by an MIT educated computer science engineer and former Microsoft programmer. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing the full life cycle of our software products including Planning, Implementation, Testing, Deployment and Maintenance
  • Software analysis, code analysis, requirements analysis, software review, identification of code metrics, system risk analysis, software reliability analysis
  • Evaluate and identify new technologies for implementation
  • Project Planning and Project Management
  • Maintain standards compliance

PREREQUISITES

  • Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field
  • 2+ years of professional software development experience across the entire software life cycle
  • Extensive experience with web development in Java
  • Substantial experience with database development and performance tuning
  • Experience with Struts, Spring, Hibernate, and at least one major JavaScript framework
  • Familiarity with both Windows- and Linux-based server environments
  • Strong architecture and OO skills
  • US citizen or authorized to work in the United States

WHAT WILL SET YOU APART

  • Any experience with, or exposure to, Google Maps, GIS systems, or spatial data
  • Experience with C#, ASP.NET, and Silverlight
  • Experience with Perl, Python, or Ruby
  • System administration, networking, and security experience
  • Previous experience working for a start-up or a small company
