Retail Research Statistician

OVERVIEW

Forum Analytics is looking for a Retail Research Statistician to work in our Chicago offices. As a Research Statistician you will provide primary client support for all sales forecast modeling and general research services provided by Forum to the retail and restaurant sectors.​ Forum Analytics is seeking a rare combination of skills to fill this unique role within our rapidly growing consulting and data-mining business.​

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary

  • Develop linear and non-linear regression-based sales forecast models for consumer-oriented businesses for use in a Google-based mapping application.​
  • Create and support time-series sales cannibalization models.​
  • Refine existing market area prediction models with an eye towards developing and testing new methods for this type of modeling.​
  • Prepare client presentations of final materials and co-present those findings with senior management to our clients.​

Professional Development

  • Develop skills to properly propose additional products and services to help prospective / client companies achieve their key priorities.
  • Participate in company-sponsored job-related activities and training to further develop your analytic skills.

PREREQUISITES

  • 1+ years of previous retail or consumer-based modeling experience but college graduates are encouraged to apply if you recently completed your degree in the field of statistics.
  • Knowledge of Stata, S-Plus, SAS, or SPSS
  • A degree in statistics, mathematics, decision science or other like field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must
  • Knowledge of GIS systems such as ArcGIS, Alteryx, or MapInfo a plus.
